  • Fractal Fantasy's new visual project lands on July 28th. Virtua is an EP, immersive 360° YouTube upload and a "blueprint for a space we intend to build," the label tells RA. It features new music from label heads Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones, plus Martyn Bootyspoon, Zubotnik and Xzavier Stone. The four-walled virtual environment has a "surround projection screen" with work from Nicolas Sassoon and ⌀⌀⌀⌀. There's also IMAX-inspired spatial sound design, where different sounds are placed behind each wall, giving artists "precise control over where to focus elements of sound within the room," according to press materials. The room also features a stage in the middle—"to keep the inner-walls free for complete immersion"—and a "a designated studio environment for programmers and artists to develop ideas and experiment" in the outer reaches. The full project comes out next week. Check out some preview images below.
