  • Korg has revived the ARP 2600 synthesiser. A crucial piece in the evolution of analogue synth design, the original 2600 was one of the first to sport a semi-modular build, allowing both easy access for beginners and deep configurability for advanced synthesists. Korg's new version, dubbed the 2600 FS, will be available only in a "single, one-time-only production run." Crafted in Japan with additional mod-cons like USB and DIN-style MIDI connections, the 2600 FS also comes with an ARP 3620 Duophonic Keyboard with a new arpeggiator and sequencer. Like the original, it includes a host of sound design tools, such as sample & hold, ring modulation, an envelope follower and a clockable switch. The selection of components used was overseen by David Friend, co-founder of ARP Instruments. The 2600 FS is currently listed for preorder at $3,899.99.
