  • London venue KOKO caught fire Monday, January 6th. Firefighters were called to the scene at 8:56 PM, Metro reports. "30 percent of the roof is alight," according to a spokesman from the London Fire Brigade. "Firefighters are working hard to save the rest of the building. Please avoid the area if possible." Conservative councillor Oliver Cooper later tweeted the fire has been pushed back and is now "very much under control." KOKO was in the process of being remodelled, but the six-story venue, previously known as the Camden Theatre and The Music Machine, has been a fixture of the North London neighbourhood since 1900. The venue has hosted everyone from the Rolling Stones to the Sex Pistols, and more recently, Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards.
