- 1819 is out this month.
Smagghe & Cross have a new album, 1819, on the way via Offen Music.
It's the second full-length from the duo of Ivan Smagghe and the composer Rupert Cross, following their well-received 2017 LP, MA. The new one, their second for Vladimir Ivkovic's label, reportedly takes a minimalist bent.
"The music is sparse," the label says. "The past is forever: ghosts of industries are conjured through the English countryside, fading memories play static with an idea of romance, the sun breaks through the iron clouds." It's "a record free of uncouth nostalgia but laced with ethereal melancholia."
