- Due to the postponement of Subsonic Music Festival, the Chilean won't be flying south this weekend.
Ricardo Villalobos's Australian tour has been called off.
His visit, part of fabric's 20th anniversary celebrations, was due to take place this weekend, however with the postponement of Subsonic Music Festival due to bushfire risks, a last minute decision has been made to cancel the trip.
Melbourne promoter Novel, who are hosting the fabric showcase this Saturday, December 7th, released a statement, explaining, "One of the reasons Ricardo agreed to come to Australia was to perform at the Subsonic Festival, and with its recent postponement, the appeal of the long journey down under was seriously diminished. The show must go on, however, sadly without Ricardo, and fabric and Novel have been working hard overnight on finding a resolution."
Stepping in for Villalobos will be Kornél Kovács, Archie Hamilton and Oliver Huntemann. They'll join Craig Richards and Mathew Jonson at The Paddock throughout Saturday afternoon.
While the Subsonic festival won't be going ahead in New South Wales, organisers announced a run of nine club shows happening across Sydney this weekend with many of the artists originally billed. fabric will also host a showcase on Sunday the 8th at Home The Venue with Richards and Jonson being joined by Margaret Dygas and Bobby.
