Warning be very, very, scared - the students are back!
As the academic year kicks off again in the UK and other parts of the Northern Hemisphere, so too do the notorious student parties! One of the most famous soirees to spring from the student scene is Chibuku Shake Shake, a club night brought to life by students in Liverpool.
Having taken a short break over the summer, Chibuku returns to the Barfly in Liverpool this Saturday, September 17th bigger and better with its Grand Re-opening party headlined by the magnificent Jazzy Jeff.
Richard McGinnis the co-founder and main organiser of Chibuku says,“Down to business and Chibuku is back, morphing and changing as ever bringing new sounds to our spectrum alongside some old favourites. The Grand Reopening party signals the new season and after a few false starts Jazzy Jeff returns a year to the day.”
Indeed, Liverpool's wayward scholars can expect more of the same Chibuku craziness over the next nine months with some amazing parties lined up - London Elektricty, 2manydjs, Soulwax, Felix da Housecat and DJ Marky just a few of the more well-known acts who'll be making an appearance.
With Chibuku becoming ever more popular and growing each year, the club night is already branching out across the UK: tonight's Chibuku Shake Shake at Fabric gig, their very first, no doubt a sign of things to come!
