Perhaps not on the scale of San Francisco or Sydney, but still huge in its presence is London’s gay nightclubbing scene. On Thursday 18th November Discotec, the midweek gay club will celebrate its 2nd birthday at The End. Throughout the night, a grand total of 22 Discotec residents will be pairing up for some ping-pong style DJing! Femi B, Luke Hope, Guy Williams, Paul Heron, Tom McMillan, Nick-T, Fidel, Johnny Mollet, Luke Howard, Kesner Kidd, Kinky D & Philly, Jeffrey Hinton, Freddie Thomas, Mr T, Sugarbear & Tyron, Mike Starr, 9Bob and Qboy will all be coupling up to deliver some quality house music, soundtracking all the fabulous birthday shenanigans.
Over the last two years, Discotec has concentrated on putting on a midweek club which has seen a vast array of clubs and organisations joining the fray, including Queen Club (Paris), Home Deluxe (Paris), Black & Blue (Montreal) and La Messa (Italy). Guests who have come to the Midweeker include by Miss Honey Dijon (Classic/US), Craig C (The Pound Boyz), Alex Taylor (Home/OZ), DJ Paulette, Smokin' Jo, Miguel Pellitero, Gonzalo, Steve Pitron, Rob Sykes, Nick T and Mickey D. The Discotec birthday also marks the launch of the club's world tour: D2R (detour). Kicking off in Istanbul on 19th November, the tour will take in Brighton, Manchester, Leeds, Stockholm, Paris and many more cities and countries along the way, finishing off in Australia in January 2005.
