  • An exciting new year has already been planned for the Grand Central crew as they embark on what should be one of their finer years to date. With a string of music set to be released plus album tours and re-launched parties, GC are definitely coming to a sound system near you. In celebration of 2004, 4 early GC compilations have been re-released with new artwork and re-mastered sounds for those wishing to hear where it all begin. 'Frying The Fat' is the first GC album which contains early Rae & Christian, Aim tracks plus singles from artists who help shape the sound. 'Central Heating' is a double disc displaying early productions by Only Child, Tony D, Funky Fresh Few, Mark Rae, Aim, Rae & Christian, Mr Scruff and Andy Votel. 'Central Heating 2' is the follow up with many of the above artists plus Riton, Funk Fresh Few, Fingathing, Dual Control and J Walk. 'Ordered From The Catalogue' is a live mix put together by the gran daddy of GC, Mark Rae, with rare and exclusive tracks with remixes from The Deadbeats and The Nextmen. Grand Central RecordsSome new albums to look out for this year are Kate Rogers debut album 'St Eustacia' due out February 23, Mark Rae's next solo album 'Into The Depths' featuring Veba and Pete Simpson will be out in September, Fingathing release their 3rd LP 'Fingathing And The Big Red Nebula Band' in May and Dual Control's debut LP 'Left Or Right' out in March. For the budding DJ looking for new tunes, Rob Smith's 'Angels in Poverty' featuring Kelz is out on February 16 from his album 'Up On The Downs' and features 'Tru Rub' on the flip, with Scruff and co giving it healthy spin. On the touring and party side, a full UK tour from Mark Rae has been planned in March where he will be previewing his new album with Dual Control in tow. Kate Rogers will also be touring around the same time throughout the UK for her debut album (more info visit her new website www.katerogers.net). The popular GC party, Friends & Family, starts up again this Saturday night in Manchester at the Roadhouse with Quantic while the London leg will see Mark Rae at Cargo in the coming months.
