  • Q: You moved to Berlin a few years ago. What is the biggest difference between the clubs in your birth country France and your new homeland Germany?

A: Yes, it's been four years. And for a long, long time before that, electronic music was already a true cultural establishment. And I guess it's the number one country in Europe for this. So, the biggest difference is that the clubs are better here!

Q: This is your first release for Contexterrior. What is your favorite release from the label's past?

A: Well, it's my first solo release for the label, but last year I did "Strangers in All Lands" with my friends as the Gypsy Family (Quenum, Dachshund and myself). As for my favorite Contexterrior - I really like #7 by Jay Haze vs. Mikael Stavöstrand.

Q: You received studio help from Sierra Sam and Jay Haze. Is there anything in particular you learned from them?

A: Ha ha... Yes, one thing: patience!

Q: You got Argenis Brito and Danton Eeprom to provide guest vocals for your new album. How did you approach them to collaborate?

A: I have known Danton for a long time, since we come from of the same city in France. So it was great to have a personal friend for one track! And for Argenis, he is a friend of Jay and Sam. I'm familiar with his great work, and after he heard my request and the instrumental track, he said yes, let's do it!

Q: You said that Baudelaire's 'Les Fleurs du Mal' was an influence on this album. What else have you been reading lately?

A: Yes, this album was influence from his work because to me, it reflects real life. Another pick of mine is 'La Dame aux Camelias' by Alexandre Dumas fils. I do have a lot of free time to read while waiting in the airports!
