- The world of electronic music is not exactly known for giving back to the community, but the Manifesto Collective out of Houston is doing their bit to change that this weekend.
Inspired by the model of UR in Detroit, the Manifesto Collective are throwing a party this Friday, November 9th with all 100% of all takings going to Workshop Houston, a non-profit that keeps area youth out of gangs and off the streets by teaching classes in welding, music production, fashion design, bike repairs and academic tutoring.
The night is happening at The Backroom in Houston this Friday, with Houston’s finest Jeffery Mac, Chris Costello, Jessica Partin and Sasha Braverman behind the decks. The goal is to generate a significant monetary contribution to the Workshop (100% of the evening’s revenues are donated) as well as raise awareness for the organization. A great opportunity to have to a fun night out while helping others in the process. Check it.
