  • The Reason Rack is now available as a plug-in. Since the release of Reason 1.0 in 2001, the software emulated a typical studio rack filled with synthesisers, effects and other music-making gear. Now that rack and all its devices can be used as a plug-in in third party DAWs, giving producers access to Reason's tools directly within the host of their choice for the first time. It'll be available initially only in VST3 format before an AU version is released before the end of the year. The news was bundled in with the announcement of Reason 11, which will come with the Rack plug-in upon its release on September 25th. Besides workflow improvements for editing and screen navigation, the update introduces four new devices including a master buss compressor and a new channel EQ. Reason 11 is available in three price tiers: Intro ($99), Standard ($399) and Suite ($599). Reason's manufacturer Propellerhead is also changing its name to Reason Studios.
