  • Diamondstein's next album, Reflecting On A Dying Man, comes out in October. The LP via Doom Trip, the Los Angeles label where he's released two collaborative full-lengths with Sangam previously. The record was inspired by his father's final days fighting Lou Gehrig's Disease, and the road trip Diamondstein took from LA to Parkersburg, West Virginia to go see him. The press release says "the music reflects that journey and experience, with a variety of styles—beat-driven electronics, ambient soundscapes, pointed synths, angry industrial slashes—painting the picture throughout." Reflecting On A Dying Man isn't about death so much as the emotional and intellectual experience of witnessing it," says Diamondstein. "Each song represents a moment of clarity in the experience—lucid realizations that you become susceptible to when the man you know better than anyone is steadily fading away on the floor below. Some dark and driving, some thoughtful and saccharine, and some overwhelmingly moving because each is what death feels like when you have the time think about it." Watch the video for "Someday You'll Have This Too."
