  • The first lineup for this year's Soft Centre festival has dropped. Following a curatorial stint at Dark Mofo's Night Mass, the one-day experimental event's third outing will once again be held at the expansive Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre in Western Sydney, bringing with it a wide range of musical, performance and installation artists. On the international tip, Congolese artist Nkisi along with 33EMYBW and Gooooose, members of the Shanghai label SVBKVLT, will all be making their Australian debut. Noise and hard dance will be the flavour in The Marsden Gallery with Defektro, MILAT, NETTI, Lilly Kane and D-Grade, while The Turbine Hall will host a set from differently-abled troupe Tralala Blip and The Georges River stage will focus on sounds from Greater Western Sydney including Kilimi, Wytchings, Atro and Big Tings Recordings head Monako. Female Wizard and Jada will collaborate on a performance called "What Is Human," Jannah Quill joins art studio House of Vnholy to use solar panels to convert light to noise and Japan's Shohei Fujimoto presents three lighting works using lasers, mirrors and motors. Listen to Nkisi's RA podcast.
