- The nine-track album compiles recent 12-inch singles from the DFA mainstay, along with a couple new tracks.
The Juan Maclean will release The Brighter The Light LP via their regular home, DFA Records, on September 20th.
The nine-track full-length primarily draws from John Maclean's singles from the past six years, from 2013's "You Are My Destiny" to last month's "Zone Non Linear." (The Brighter The Light takes its title from a 2017 Juan Maclean single.) It also includes two unreleased tracks, "Quiet Magician" and "Pressure Danger." The label says The Brighter The Light eschews the "slow-motion melancholy disco" of past Juan Maclean full-lengths like 2014's In A Dream, opting instead for "fierce enthusiasm and dance floor missives."
The compilation LP paves the way for a proper studio album in 2020. As with most Juan Maclean material, The Brighter The Light features vocalist and LCD Soundsystem founding member Nancy Whang.
