A petition has been set up to stop the owners of the barge from evicting the popular club.
Paris nightclub Concrete is at risk of closure.
The company that runs the barge housing the popular club refused to renew Concrete's contract at the start of 2019 and has since asked the team to vacate the premises. In late 2018, Concrete were close to buying the barge, known locally as Le Ponton La Rapée, but the deal fell through. The club says it was issued with a 15-day eviction notice on February 11th.
A Change.org petition has been set up to help Concrete's cause. The club, which currently employs 70 staff, has the support of Paris's deputy mayor, Frédéric Hocquard, who calls it "one of the main clubs that animates and really lights up Parisian nightlife." He adds: "In just a few years, this place has become one of the hearts of techno music and the revival of Paris nightlife. This heart must not stop beating."
Since opening in 2012, Concrete has become one of the most important nightclubs in the world. Famous for its all-day Sunday sessions featuring a wide range of house, techno and electro artists, it helped revive Paris's dance music scene.
According to the Resident Advisor listings, Concrete has events planned into June. Zip, Cabanne and Anthony Linell (AKA Abdulla Rashim) are due to play this weekend.
Last Sunday, RA co-hosted a party at Concrete in collaboration with Rinse France. The show was part of Community Connections Paris.
