  • Dark Entries is kicking off 2019 with two new releases of music from the early '80s. The first record comes from Italian duo Victrola, who were contemporaries of artists like Alexander Robotnick and Neon Pankow. They only released one EP, back in 1982, which was later reissued by Dark Entries in 2012. Now the label is putting out a collection of previously unreleased demos recorded from 1983 through 1985, curated from over 100 tapes sent to Dark Entries by Victrola. The other release is a reissue of the second album from Cologne group Stratis, called New Face, which first came out in 1983. It's the first time the whole full-length has ever been issued on vinyl. The Dark Entries press release compares the record to the soundtracks of Blade Runner and Tron, and notes influences from Tangerine Dream, Chris & Cosey and Yello. To mark their tenth anniversary, the San Francisco label is also repressing some of their most in-demand out-of-print titles, including Crash Course In Science's Jump Over Barrels EP and Eleven Pond's Bas Relief album, which was the first-ever release on Dark Entries. Listen to clips of both LPs.
