  • SoundCloud has launched its integration with Serato DJ. Initially announced back in October, this is the first in a series of integrations between the audio platform and a host of DJ software products, giving DJs the ability to browse and play music listed on the site in their sets. "Today's launch is the first time DJs can mix and stream SoundCloud's massive catalog directly in professional-level DJ software," said SoundCloud CEO Kerry Trainor in a blog post last week. The Verge has pointed out that there is currently no support for offline use, meaning a fast, stable Wi-Fi connection is essential for actually utilising the integration in a DJ set, although SoundCloud plans to roll out the feature in the future. Users will need a SoundCloud Go+ account, which costs $9.99 per month, and either Serato DJ Pro 2.1 or DJ Lite 1.1 to use the service. SoundCloud will launch integrations with Native Instruments, Virtual DJ, DEX3, Mixvibes and Hercules in 2019.
