- Unseen Worlds and The Expanding Universe will arrive in January.
New York label Unseen Worlds is repressing two Laurie Spiegel albums.
January 19th, 2019, will the see the first vinyl release of the US composer's hard-to-find 1991 CD Unseen Worlds (from which the label takes its name) and a repress of The Expanding Universe, Spiegel's highly-regarded debut LP from 1981.
Unseen Worlds was created using an algorithmic computer program devised by Spiegel called Music Mouse, but the release quickly fell into obscurity following the demise of Scarlet, the label behind the original CD.
While The Expanding Universe was reissued by Unseen Worlds back in 2012, the latest edition is a triple-vinyl collection containing tracks from the 2012 double-CD, which were recorded in the '70s on computer systems at Bell Labs.
Listen to "Passage" from Unseen Worlds.
