  • Ewan Jansen has a new label on the way called Hubplate. The first 12-inch, due on November 23rd, comes from the New Zealand-born, Sydney-based artist Patch Free, who's previously released music on Butter Sessions and Hot Haus Recs. There are also records planned from Darby Shaw, Jansen's partner in the label, and Dan Curtin. Through the late '90s until 2001, Jansen released music on his own Red Ember Records imprint, a project he revived back in 2016. Now, along with Darby Shaw, he'll be looking to explore different sounds. "Even though our main shared love is primarily '90s house and techno, that will be the spiritual filter only," Jansen said. "The sound is gonna go where it goes—nothing too abstract, good for the dance floor, a touch of quirkiness and fun." Listen to clips from HUB001 on deejay.de.
