  • Field Day 2019 will not take place at Brockwell Park in South London. Brixton Buzz reports that Lambeth Council, which oversees Brockwell Park, has not received a new licence application from the festival's organisers. The council confirmed the news on Monday, adding that next year's edition will instead take place at a "unique new site." "Field Day's decision to hold the festival in a more suitable location is the right one, for them and for the people of Herne Hill," said local Green party councillor Becca Thackray. "While I commend the organisers for their efforts to minimise the disruption to the area in May, it was always going to be impossible to simultaneously satisfy paying festivalgoers and meet the needs of local residents." Field Day has also confirmed the move, saying the 2019 edition will "mark an evolution" for the festival. Last year's edition, their first since leaving Victoria Park, was criticised due to issues of overcrowding and disruption to the local area. It's not the first dance music event at Brockwell Park to come under fire. In 2017, Sunfall Festival was slammed after punters were forced to queue for hours to get in.
