- The Taapion cofounder put together 14 tracks and nearly 70 minutes of music for his first LP effort.

Shlømo's debut album, Mercurial Skin, is coming next month.
The Parisian techno DJ and producer, real name Shaun Baron-Carvais, will release Mercurial Skin through Taapion Records, the label he runs alongside AWB and PVNV. It'll also be the first full-length project for Taapion, which marks five years in operation this year.
The album is made up of 14 tracks and nearly 70 minutes of music. It takes in elements of techno, IDM, ambient and experimental music, and will come on transparent double-vinyl and digital formats at the end of October.
"This album is a return to my roots," Baron-Carvais says, explaining how he intended to pay homage to the electronic music he discovered through labels like Warp in the late '90s and early '00s. "I was also the only kid in class that would buy movie soundtracks," he adds, "and I wanted to convey the memories and emotions from these records within the LP."
Besides Taapion, Baron-Carvais's work as Shlømo has appeared on labels including Delsin, Soma, Wolfskuil Ltd and Bright Sounds over the past half-decade. He also performs live ambient sets under his given name.
