- The longtime producer is back on Kompakt, as he moves away from his role in The Orb to focus on solo work.
Thomas Fehlmann will release his seventh solo album, Los Lagos, through Kompakt this September.
Los Lagos will be the first solo LP for the Swiss producer and longtime The Orb member since Kompakt put out Gute Luft back in 2010. Today's announcement says he's winding down his role in The Orb; the album was apparently put together "in the twilight of his collaboration with Alex Paterson." The Orb's latest album, No Sounds Are Out Of Bounds, was released just last month.
"It was time to take a bend and head where the sun rises or sets, wherever my heart drives me," Fehlmann says of Los Lagos, adding that he aimed to follow his intuition "to bring out a new beauty."
The album features a collaboration with German artist Max Loderbauer, and artwork courtesy of Fehlmann's friend Albert Oehlen.
