The 250-capacity space has booked DJ Masda, PLO Man and Maayan Nidam for its first month.
A new club called Post Bar is opening in Helsinki this month.
The new venue, located in the Sörnäinen neighbourhood of the Finnish capital, will have a capacity of 250. Organisers hope Post Bar will be as much for hanging out as it will be for dancing. The space will be run by four local DJs: J.Lindroos, Denzel, Justus Valtanen and Daniel Kayrouz, with guidance from local scene hero Lil Tony, who also owns Helsinki clubs Kaiku and Ääniwalli and Flow Festival. J.Lindroos and Denzel also throw the Retritti and Dept. parties, while Kayrouz and Valtanen used to run the MK54 underground club in Helsinki.
On Wednesdays, the club will host "whatever Wednesday," where DJs are encouraged to "open up their collections" and play unusual music. On the weekends there will be a focus on house, disco and "obscure stuff." The "vibe is warm," the organisers add. "It's not a techno venue."
Highlights for the first few months of Post Bar include DJ Masda, PLO Man, Maayan Nidam, DJ Fett Burger, Leo Pol and DJ Fati (AKA RAMZi).
Each month, the venue will highlight an artist, with Braulio Amado taking the spotlight for the club's opening.
