  • Serato has made important updates to their DJ software. The trial version is now called Serato Lite (formerly Serato Intro), while the full version has been renamed Serato DJ Pro. Where previous versions required a controller or proprietary hardware, the new versions don't. They now come with a "practice mode" that allows for in-computer mixing, reports Create Digital Music. New users can now download Serato Lite and get started immediately without a license or any kind of controller. Those who already have a Serato DJ license can use their pre-existing code with the new software. Other updates include support for 64-bit, which means enhanced performance and fewer issues with memory or processing power. It also now supports high-resolution monitor or laptop displays.
