  • The Frankfurt Museum Of Modern Electronic Music—or MOMEM—is one step closer to reality. Yesterday, the Journal Frankfurt announced that MOMEM will take over the space of Frankfurt's children's museum in April, with the aim of opening later this year. MOMEM will occupy the space for two to four years as a pop-up, while the museum continues to look for a permanent home. The city has promised to lease the space to MOMEM for free. The museum, a joint project between longtime Frankfurt DJ Andreas Tomalla (AKA Talla 2XLC), was first announced in 2015 with a projected opening year of 2017. Organizers weren't able to find a suitable space, while changes in government meant that, before this week, the project never went further than a contract announcing the museum.
