- The highly sought-after Breeze LP will get new life on vinyl and CD next month.
Studio Mule, a new sub-label of Tokyo's Mule Musiq, is reissuing the ultra-rare 1987 album Breeze from Japanese jazz fusion band Atlas.
Atlas, a group composed of Hiroyuki Namba, Eiji Kawamura, and Toshiro Imaizumi, put out a few records in the '80s, of which Breeze is the most highly sought-after. Mule describes it as "one of the best and most complex Japanese jazz fusion albums," and label boss Toshiya Kawasaki himself calls it a "secret weapon." Original editions are extremely hard to come by—there's just one vinyl copy listed for sale on Discogs.
Studio Mule is now set to give Breeze a fresh issue in late February on both vinyl and CD formats. It'll be the sub-label's second release, after a compilation of Japanese disco, boogie and soul that's due out later this month.
