  • Muta, the classic 1993 album from Italian techno producer Leo Anibaldi, will be reissued later this month, before a new remixes EP featuring Surgeon lands in November. Anibaldi is one of the Roman rave scene's pioneering figures, thanks in large part to the experimentally-tinged techno, acid and ambient he put out on key local label ACV in the early '90s. One of his ACV releases was Muta, which is now getting new life on vinyl as the first release for Lost In It, a fresh concern from the minds behind the electronique.it website and label. It's coming on three slabs of wax—the original double-vinyl edition, plus a single-sided disc for the ninth track that had appeared only on the CD version. Also on the way, through Anibaldi's own Cannibald Records, is Phase III, a vinyl-only EP of remixes built from some of his other ACV material. That one packs new takes from Surgeon and another international techno favorite, The Advent, along with Italian artists Ralph Mirto and Knobs. Listen to a track from Muta.
And try out samples of Phase III.
