- Soul, disco, jazz, reggae and hip-hop all make it onto the 21-track compilation, which arrives in October.
Kerri Chandler has put together a DJ-Kicks mix for !K7.
"It's like me taking you for a walk in New York," says Chandler of the 21-track selection. "Like a music tour guide, we go through Brooklyn, Soho, Midtown, the Bronx and Uptown, and parts of New Jersey."
Music by Roy Ayers, T La Rock, Leroy Hutson and Innerzone Orchestra makes it onto the compilation, which the label calls a "very personal mixtape with blends, fades and cuts." At various points in the mix Chandler plays keys, talks into a mic and includes sound effects recorded in New York. He's also included an exclusive solo production titled "Stop Wasting My Time."
Chandler is heading on a DJ-Kicks tour, with dates across Europe, the UK and North America in October and November.
