  • A new Zombie Zombie album is on the way via Versatile Records. Livity is the French outfit's first proper full-length since Versatile released Rituels D'un Nouveau Monde back in 2012. (They've produced two film scores and the soundtrack for a contemporary circus performance in the interim.) It's a collaboration between the two original members (Etienne Jaumet and Cosmic Neman) and Dr. Schonberg, who's been part of the Zombie Zombie live trio. Together, they recorded seven tracks in as many days in Paris last winter. Longtime Versatile affiliate I:Cube handled the mixing, while influential cartoonist and illustrator Philippe Druillet provided the cover artwork. A press release says Livity "seems to plunge us deep into science fiction" through "long instrumental moments recorded with analog synthesizers and drum machines [and] accompanied by drums and percussion." Listen to the nine-minute-long title track for an idea of what that could mean.
