US house and techno producers John Barera and Will Martin have a second collaborative album, Proceed To The Root, on the way through 2MR.
Barera and Martin began recording the album shortly after the release of their 2014 Graceless LP on Steffi's Dolly label. It grew out of a series of studio sessions as well as work done on the road, which included "doing edits at Gatwick Airport, writing synth pads on a night train to Germany and spending a blackout day in Berlin producing by candlelight."
The close friends (and former roommates) have partnered on a few more records since Graceless, including one for Argot in 2015, but they were all produced before Graceless was issued. Proceed To The Root marks "the beginning of the next chapter" for their collaboration, the duo says.
