- The ambient and New Age event series is starting a label.
New Atlantis has a compilation out today.
The London event series—a "New Age and ambient music social," as they call it—was started by Deadboy in 2015, and is now managed by India Jordan of Radar Radio. (Deadboy has since moved to Montreal, and will be starting a series called Nouveau Atlantis there.)
Both Deadboy and Jordan will run the New Atlantis label, which launches today with a 14-track compilation. In addition to Deadboy and Jordan, the album features tracks from Yamaneko (and his side project Talbot Fade), Webstarr, Throwing Shade and others.
New Atlantis started as a way for electronic music fans to come together and listen to music in a more relaxed, non-party setting. The events usually run from the afternoon into evening, and performers often adopt tongue-in-cheek New Age aliases.
