- The US producer will use the series to reissue some of his rare early records, beginning with two 12-inches from '98.
Titonton Duvante is starting a new series on his Residual Recordings label, Residual Classic, devoted to reissuing some of his early output.
An Ohio native and part of Columbus's Midwest Fresh party crew, Duvante has crafted an adventurous range of melodic techno and house music since the mid-'90s. These days many of his earlier releases fetch collectors' prices on the secondhand market. His first move for Residual Classic is a repress of Avenues / Alleyways, which originally came out in 1998 via 2000 Black. It'll be back on wax on late July.
Duvante will then give new life to another of his 1998 efforts—Futurity, a four-track EP for the long-defunct Danish imprint Multiplex. A release date for that one is still TBA.
Residual Classic's launch follows Duvante's decision last year to reopen Residual itself. Prior to that, the label hadn't put out a record in ten years. Besides Duvante, its revival has featured appearances from John Tejada, Jeff Samuel, Christopher Rau and Garrett David.
