- The Saint Petersburg act's next album, Labyrinth, is out in June.
X.Y.R. will release a full-length called Labyrinth on Not Not Fun.
The ambient artist has been building a name for himself with releases on labels like Constellation Tatsu and Singapore Sling Tapes. X.Y.R., real name Vladimir Karpov, released a 2015 cassette album, Mental Journey To B.C., on Not Not Fun and appeared on the recent Optimo Music compilation Miracle Steps: Music From The Fourth World 1983-2017.
Karpov says Labyrinth was hand-played on Soviet-era synthesizers, including the Formanta Mini and the Alisa - 1387, and notes the track "Labyrinth Of Reflections" is a journey into the "inner world of man." Not Not Fun describes the LP as "six misty, mystic chambers of dreams and drones." It will be the label's first vinyl release of 2017.
