  • Novation has announced its latest pieces of gear, an eight-voice desktop polysynth called Peak and an analog synth, Circuit Mono Station. The manufacturer brought in Chris Huggett—who created the Bass Station, Supernova and OSCar synths—for Peak, which is a hybrid analogue-digital synthesizer that takes after Novation's pure analogue Bass Station II. It features eight voices with oscillators engineered to sound and behave like analogue gear along with 17 digital wavetables. Despite the digital oscillators, a multi-mode analogue filter and three distortion points make for an analogue signal chain. The Circuit Mono Station is also based on the Bass Station II. It's a paraphonic analogue synth with a built-in sequencer, expanding the functionality of Novation's Circuit with two oscillators that can be sequenced independently. It also has a sub-oscillator, ring modulator, noise generator and four waveshapes. Peak is due to land in May with a retail price of $1299, while the Circuit Mono Station will follow in July for $499.
