  • An album from The Mulholland Free Clinic is on the way, via Away Music. A supergroup of sorts, The Mulholland Free Clinic consists of Move D, Jonah Sharp and Juju & Jordash, four artists who share an interest in spacey, hardware-driven electronic music. (Move D and Sharp are also known for their longtime Reagenz project, while Move D and Juju & Jordash together form Magic Mountain High.) The quartet has only played a few gigs to date. They first appeared as The Mulholland Free Clinic with a set at Unsound 2013, and their second set was at an Away party at Berlin's ://about blank last summer. A recording of that three-hour performance was used to make this self-titled album, the group's debut. It comprises seven tracks, and more than 80 minutes of music, extracted from a "totally improvised jam" that was created, as you might expect, with "an armada of analog hardware." The first LP for Away's label, which has previously featured productions from both Move D (who's also a resident at the party) and Reagenz, it'll arrive next month on vinyl and digital formats. The Mulholland Free Clinic has a couple bookings coming up: they'll play a Liberation Day event at Amsterdam's RADION on Friday, May 5th, and the next day, they'll be back at ://about blank for an album release party with Away. Listen to a snippet of "Vital Signs."
