  • Leon Vynehall has announced a new set of residencies in Europe and Asia for 2017. Vynehall will hold residencies at Paris's Concrete, Pikes in Ibiza, Tokyo's Contact, Oslo's Jaeger and Le Sucre in Lyon. He'll play Concrete, Contact and Jaeger three times a year, while he'll hold court at Pikes every Saturday in July and take over Le Sucre one Sunday per month from this summer onwards. Vynehall will play all-night sets at each venue, sometimes alone and other times with artists of his choice. The residencies are part of an ongoing effort to tour less and have more time to work on music. "The past few years have become more and more filled with peak time hour slots of two-to-three hours," Vynehall told RA. "And although these are fun in and of themselves, the times I've been given the keys to a club for a whole night and been entrusted with providing a soundtrack for six-plus hours is where I've felt truly comfortable and at ease." The first two residency gigs will happen this month. He'll kick off at Concrete on the 16th back-to-back with Gerd Janson, and he'll hit Jaeger on the 29th, this time joined by Medlar.
