Shawn O'Sullivan has a 400PPM album on the way for Shifted's Avian label.
Fit For Purpose will be the first 400PPM full-length from the New York producer, after EPs of caustic, noise-inflected techno delivered to Avian in 2013 and 2016. (He's also known as Vapauteen, and he works alongside Beau Wanzer using the name Civil Duty, and with Rose E. Kross as Further Reductions.) We're told to expect "high-energy 4×4 workouts" along with "more complex rhythmic structures and harsh, low-tempo grooves" when it lands in May on double-vinyl and digital formats.
The ten-track release includes a collaboration with Rose E. Kross, and the vinyl will come shipped with a booklet of photographs sourced from Fabulousity, a photo book by Alexis Dibiasio and Ernie Glam that chronicled New York's late-'80s and early-'90s Club Kids scene.
Avian is also giving away a set of free 400PPM locked grooves, which you can find here.
