- The Good Timin' boss's full-length was co-engineered by CZ Wang of Mood Hut.

Jex Opolis will release his first full-length, Ravines, on his Good Timin' label in April.
The native Albertan and current Brooklyn dweller, known for his love of live instrumentation, has released a string of well-received singles on Good Timin' and Running Back since 2013. On the nine-track Ravines, he's stepped away from the club format towards "melody and traditional pop structures," according to the press release. Jex says, "Working on this record was about redefining my craft. Like a kid exploring the forest—building new structures, finding new textures. Having fun but also spooking yourself a little." Fittingly, the title refers to Jex's childhood exploration of the rural Canadian woods.
Ravines was conceived in Jex's home studio and completed at Oscilloscope Laboratories alongside engineers Andre Kelman (Phoenix, Beastie Boys) and CZ Wang (Mood Hut).
Listen to the lead-off single, "First Stomp."
