  • Mark Fisher has died. His death was confirmed by his publisher. The British writer, also known as K-punk, was a music blogger and theorist renowned for his work on politics and music, particularly electronic music. His writing appeared in publications such as The Wire, The Guardian and FACT, and he also ran an influential blog under his alias K-Punk. He wrote important works on Burial, pop music and hauntology, and published several books, including one on Michael Jackson and another on what he called "capitalist realism" (the idea that in neoliberal capitalism there are no viable social structures outside of capitalism itself). He was a notable influence on artists and writers like Kode9, Holly Herndon and Adam Harper. You can read his blog archives here. A number of electronic music artists paid tribute to him on Twitter.
