  • The electronic music community is paying its respects to David Mancuso, who has died aged 72. Tributes have been flooding in following the news, which disco veteran Nicky Siano broke via Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday, November 15th. Mancuso was most famous for The Loft, the series of weekly parties he held at his home on Broadway in New York. The first official edition, titled Love Saves The Day, took place on February 14th, 1970, and the events still continue today. As well as Siano, the likes of Bill Brewster, Roger Sanchez, Horse Meat Disco, Tim Sweeney, Jennifer Cardini, Mike Servito and Jellybean Benitez, who DJ'ed at The Loft in 2001, have all offered their condolences. Lucky Cloud Sound System, the promoter that's been running The Loft parties since 2003, also paid their respects via Facebook this morning.
