- The promoter has new events launching in South Africa and Estonia, with more in the works.
Organisers of Sweden's Into The Valley have revealed plans to launch six new festivals.
Its core festival offering, Into The Valley, is moving from its previous home—Dalhalla in Rättvik, Sweden—to Rummu, a limestone quarry and former prison near Tallinn in Estonia. The 2017 edition will run from June 29th through July 1st. Details of two new festivals have also been announced. There's Into The Factory, which will happen at an abandoned cement factory in Nynäshamn, Sweden, from August 10th through 12th next year. And there's Into The Castle, which will take place at the Castle Of Good Hope in Cape Town on January 26th and 27th in 2018. Organisers say they hope to "continue contributing to Swedish cultural exports and a closer cooperation with the electronic music scene outside of Sweden's borders."
Details of the other three new festivals—which are "tentatively planned to be implemented in Southern Europe, Asia and South America"—are yet to be revealed. "There is a great demand for what is internationally referred to as boutique festivals," says Into The Valley founder Mattias Hedlund.
