  • Amazon has introduced an on-demand music streaming service, Amazon Music Unlimited. It replaces the company's preexisting Prime Music service and is offered at US$7.99 a month or $79 a year to Amazon Prime members, reports The Verge. Non-members will pay $9.99, which is the same price of an Apple Music or Spotify subscription. If you own one of Amazon's Echo devices, the service costs $3.99. The in-built Alexa voice assistant can learn and refine selections based on a users' commands, which can range from segments of a song's lyrics to descriptions of mood. Steve Broom of Amazon told The Verge that the company has made "deals with all three major labels, in addition to 'thousands' of indies," leading to a database of "tens of millions" of songs. In contrast to other services, Music Unlimited isn't seeking exclusivity deals with artists.
