- Volume normalising is another new addition to the music management product.
Pioneer DJ have updated rekordbox to version 4.2.1.
The music management software now includes Matching, an organising system that aims to ease the track selection process. Essentially, this involves users marking complementary tracks before a set. Then when you're playing a marked track, the CDJ-TOUR1 or CDJ-2000NXS2 will suggest other cuts you've determined will match the tune currently playing.
The update also aims to ease the process of ripping and labelling analogue recordings. rekordbox will recognise the silence between tracks and create new files accordingly. These files will be subject to a normalising function, which seeks to address the disparity in volume between various tracks. There's also a new RMX EFFECTS Plus Pack on sale. This imports the Scene FX functions from Pioneer DJ's RMX effects units, including build-up tools like noise, band-passed delays and rising reverb, plus breakdown effects such as Crush Echo and Spiral Down. The update follows the recent inclusion of DVS compatibility and MIDI mapping with the software.
rekordbox 4.2.1 is available now for free. The rekordbox DJ and RMX EFFECTS Plus Pack retail for €139 and €10.90 respectively.
