  • Superior Viaduct will launch a new sublabel called W.25TH with Professional Sunflow from Laraaji & Sun Araw. Laraaji was first "discovered" by Brian Eno while performing in Washington Square Park in 1979. His 1980 album Day Of Radiance was part of Eno's formative Ambient series. In recent years, Laraaji has found an audience among modern new age enthusiasts. Most recently, some of his archival recordings were issued as a three-cassette box set called All In One Peace on LA label Leaving Records. Professional Sunflow, the debut collaboration with Cameron Stallones' wide-ranging psychedelic project Sun Araw, was culled from live performances in Germany and Switzerland. Superior Viaduct, a Bay Area label known for its sharp reissue program, will launch W.25TH, an imprint dedicated to modern-day music, with the release. They say Professional Sunflow consists of "dreamy layers of percussion, ambient textures and vibrant melodies. W.25TH has also announced plans to release a long player from Nazoranai, a trio comprising Keiji Haino, Stephen O'Malley and Oren Ambarchi. Listen to excerpts of Professional Sunflow.
