Following the announcement of summer festival appearances, elusive Australian group The Avalanches are hinting at new material.
Earlier today, the band posted a trailer for Since They Left Us to its website. The two-minute clip features studio footage of the members as well as presumed collaborators such as Jennifer Herrema (formerly of Royal Trux), Ariel Pink, the Detroit rapper Danny Brown and Father John Misty.
Since They Left Us is an obvious reference to Since I Left You, the group's 2000 album. That one, of course, is the last release by The Avalanches, though as the trailer indicates, various reports have hinted at a new release in the years since. It's unclear whether the video heralds a new Avalanches record or a documentary on the group's whereabouts.
