- The offshoot of an event series connected to the Athens-rooted crew will launch with an EP from Sawf and ANFS's Vofa collaboration.
A new subsidiary of the Athens techno and experimental label Modal Analysis, called Pi Electronics, is preparing for launch.
Pi Electronics, or p, has already hosted more than a dozen parties in both its hometown of Athens and its current base, Berlin, over the past couple of years. Now the name is being used to mint another offshoot of Modal Analysis, following Vanila's launch last fall. The projects are all closely linked—Pi Electronics is run by 3.14, a Modal Analysis co-founder alongside ANFS, who runs Vanila, and Kondaktor, who produces FASMA Festival in Athens.
The first release on Pi Electronics, due out late next month, is also the first to come from Vofa, a collaboration between ANFS and Sawf. A fellow Athenian and key Modal Analysis affiliate, Sawf helped launch Vanila with a solo EP. Another Vofa EP is on the way through Vanila, apparently also seeing release in June.
Looking further ahead, the second Pi Electronics release, a 12-inch from Ontal with Orphx on remix duties, is scheduled to land in October.
