  • The city of Groningen in the north of the Netherlands has a new club, Oost. It's located on Oosterstraat in Groningen's city centre. Oost, which means "east" in Dutch, has a promotions policy a little different to most clubs: organisers will keep details of their Saturday lineups under wraps until just a few days before each event. So far, only a handful of acts are locked in for the coming weeks—Bambounou plays this Friday, April 22nd, followed by an all-night set from Mr. Ties on Tuesday, April 26th. House, techno, disco and funk will be the 250-capacity venue's focus, with past guests including Sunil Sharpe and Space Dimension Controller. Oost will operate on Fridays and Saturdays and, by the looks of things, a Funktion-One soundsystem has been installed.
