- Nils Frahm and Run The Jewels guest on the famed beatmaker's first full-length in five years.
DJ Shadow will release an album, The Mountain Will Fall, via Mass Appeal Records on June 24th.
It sees Shadow moving away from his sample-based approach towards original songwriting and live instrumentation. Erased Tapes star Nils Frahm features on the LP, as does the El-P and Killer Mike duo Run The Jewels.
The press release says the new record took shape after LA club night Low End Theory invited Shadow to come through for a DJ set. That gig piqued his interest in new electronic genres and encouraged him to explore Ableton Live. He also began making festival appearances and founded a label called Liquid Amber.
