  • Samurai Music is continuing to streamline its operations with the relaunch of its flagship label. Towards the end of last year, the Berlin imprint announced that its Red Seal sublabel—once meant for "deeper drum & bass"—would come to an end, and that Horo, originally started as another sublabel for experimental music, would become its own entity entirely. Now Presha and company are finishing the job by relaunching the main imprint, with a focus on drum & bass, with all new catalogue numbers and a new logo (which you can see to the right). The new records will bear the name SMDE (for Deutschland), and the first, out at the end of April, is a four-tracker by Homemade Weapons and Red Army. That'll be followed in May and June by new EPs from The Untouchables and Clarity—the latter's first release of new material since 2014's Infinite LP—along with a record from Nucleus & Paradox to be announced later on down the line. Check out a recent mix from Homemade Weapons below.
