  • MUTEK's Montreal festival has announced more artists. Going down from June 1st through 5th, this is the flagship event's 17th edition. It happens at a few events across the city, focusing on the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal and the Métropolis nightclub. Previously announced acts include Function, Galcher Lustwerk, Lakker, Terekke and Dasha Rush. This latest wave adds Midnight Operator (AKA brothers Mathew Jonson & Nathan Jonson), Peder Mannerfelt, Barac, Aïsha Devi, Lorenzo Senni. It reflects a focus on the European experimental and avant-garde scenes that comes from a collaboration with SHAPE, a group that includes festivals like Unsound and CTM. Lee Gamble has also been added, and he will be presenting a collaborative project with Dave Gaskarth called Foldings. MUTEK.MX, the festival's Mexico City counterpart, will have its own showcase, featuring White Visitation, Siete Catorce and And The End Of Everything. RA will also be hosting an event as part of the festival. That one will go down on June 3rd at the MAC, featuring Burnt Friedman, Jlin, Romare, Colleen and Sandro Perri.
